i was depressed last year and finally felt better after realizing that my birth control pill was causing the depression. i was doing really good there for a while not taking anything, but now i am starting to feel it again. i have been taking sjw for about two and a half weeks. right now i am on an emotional rollercoaster. i really cant tell if it is depression because sometimes i feel really good and when i was depressed before i felt bad all the time. at certain points during the day my mood changes and i feel bad and other points i feel really good. my mood keeps changing and i really want it to stop. i am starting a new job soon and would really like to start on a good note. any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Flower:

SJW generally takes about 6 to 8 weeks for the full effect to become apparent - the time frame can be shorted if this is the first time you have taken it.

It is also normal during that time for things to get slightly worse before they start really getting better...so try not to worry too much about your 'rollercoaster' - it will stop doing loop-the-loops before you know it!!

Other ways which really help stabilise mood and generally help complement SJW are making sure that you get lots of exercise (particularly cardiovascular), drinking lots of water and aiming for a healthier diet.

Also (and you may be doing this already), taking you dosages of SJW spread-out throughout the day can help keep you thinking straight and your mood level.
