Summer SAD is possible, though rarer than winter SAD and not as well studied. According to Norman Rosenthal's book on SAD, the causes of summer SAD are not known, though of course it's likely that it is related to increased heat and light. Keeping cool and/or restricting light may work for some people, as well as moving away from the equator (essentially the opposite of the treatment for winter SAD) but the best treatment at the moment is medication.
Although I have winter SAD, I can understand how you feel. When it's especially hot, I find it difficult to concentrate on work, and very difficult to sleep. I sometimes feel depressed at the height of summer, though nothing like as bad as how I feel in winter.
