Has anyone on this site suffered from deep depression with anxiety and been helped by SJW? If so, can you please tell me about your experience?

Dear HLS
I have experienced depression/anxiety most of my life, sometimes deep suicidal depression. I have definitely been helped by SJW, in fact I can honestly say that when I started taking it I felt better than I had ever felt, although I have never tried the newer types of antidepressants. However when I started taking it I also had other types of support in my life to back it up. If you are experiencing deep depression I would say that SJW is definitely worth a try, but I would also say go and talk to your doctor or counsellor and share what you are feeling because you may need something stronger than SJW at this point.

Dear Syd,
Thank you for your reply. I talked with my counsellor today, and he suggested it might be advisable for me to start something stronger than SJW because my depression seems to be deepening. I am also afraid that if SJW doesn't work for me, I will have wasted weeks when perhaps something stronger may have already begun working. It also isn't encouraging in light of the results of another recent study that indicates SJW isn't effective in treating moderate to severe depression, which is what I believe mine is. I'm happy it worked for you, and thanks again.
