Topic Title: new to SJW

Hi everyone
I'm totally new to SJW. I bought a bottle a few weeks ago and I stared at it for a long time. Finally, I decided to give it a try a couple of days ago.
The bottle I have is from the Eclectic Institute - fresh freeze dried. The one day that I took the full dose all at once, I felt incredibly well, but it wore off around 5pm. Now, I'm trying to spread the dosage, but I don't seem to be feeling any affects at all. I don't really want to experiment with taking more than the recommended dose.
Perhaps it's too early to expect anything at all, but I thought I'd ask if anybody has had the same kind of experience :-)

Hi! Although I am new myself I'd like to welcome you to the group. I have puchased Eclectic Institute products before. They are a very good company. I havent seen their SJW bottles so I don't know what potency their's is. I'm finding that it varies WIDELY from brand to brand. Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you want to be sure the brand guarantees 0.3% hypericin (which yours probobly does), and from there the mg's will depend on what works best for you. Kelly's article linked to this site talked about 900mg, but like me you need to find what's right for you. I have a discussion group going on down the list "Just getting started" if you'd like to check it out. Good luck to you & know you're not alone. :)

Thanks a lot for your response Chillout :-) I'll go visit the new comers thread.
Yes, the bottle I have contains 0.3% hypericin.and 4% hyperofin.
I read somewhere that the hypericum perforatum should be obtained from the flower only. Is that true?
I also realized that one of the brands the store highly recommended did not have any hypericin, but all hyperofin.... but it's still called St. John's Wart. What's up with that????????
Some bottles say "extract", others don't. They are all pills. Does anybody know the difference?
HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!

If I were you, I should not worry yourself too much about all that, and simply go by results. If what you have bought works after six weeks, stick with it. If it doesn't, try something else ... plenty of people here will make recommendations :) And good luck with it!
