Hi, I hope someone can tell me if it safe to change from 5htp to prozac within a few days. It actually asks on the pack "are you taking or have you recently taken Tryptophan" Isn't this the same as 5htp? Help pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese!

You should really have asked your doctor this question! 
I'm almost 100% sure your doctor will tell you that you need to leave a few days between each medication e.g. 3-5 days where you don't take anything at all. The reason is that they don't want you to end up with 2 serotonergic (serotonin stimulating) drugs in your system at the same time. In this instance, "Tryptophan" most likely refers to both 5-HTP and L-tryptophan.

Hi Epyx, thanx for the advice. you are right i should have asked the doctor but this is how i am i never do things the obvious way!( forgetful is not the word!) I think i will wait a while b4 starting the prozac although i can't say i really want to take it.
