Has anyone used blackmores? Or any other brands for that matter? How have your experiences been?

Hi, Im from Perth and decided to order Amoryn and Seredyn from New Zealand, only AU$8 postage. I haven't tried Blackmores or any other ones on our shelves. I was scared they wouldn't be as effective as the leading brands. It's been 1mth and my experience has been extremely positive. It's only costing me $30 a bottle. If you find any local brands that work for you let us know.

Dear unsure,
I used Blackmores for about six months a couple of years ago.
All in all they're a fairly decent brand. One slight drawback for me was that the pills themselves are fairly pungent smelling and I found that they had a tendency to make me a bit nauseous, especially if not taken with food.
The reason I stopped taking Blackmore's is that I was still having the odd 'off day' with depression and Nature's Way 'Perika' brand was being heavily namechecked on this board, so I switched brands and genuinely feel that Perika gives slightly better results.
An added bonus is that Perika doesn't have a strong smell and shouldn't upset your stomach even if you take two or three at one sitting.
Blackmore's isn't bad and I have seen it recommended on this board. If you want to give Perika a try go onto www.mynutrition.com and put Perika into the search box.

Thanks for that tip, I've done a bit of reading and it seems to have some good feedback. Other than taste/nausea, did you find it had any specific advantages over Blackmores?
I've been on Blackmores for a week. Today is my first 'good' day since the beginning of the month...

Yes...I actually think that Perika worked slightly better for my depression in that it seemed to eliminate the occasional off-day I was experiencing whilst on Blackmore's.
Blackmore's is a good brand and I would certainly give it a full work out before trying something else.
