Topic Title: kira brand - confused with dosages!
| | "kira brand - confused with dosages!" , Tue 22 Jun 16:13
Hi, I'm currently taking Kira 300mg hypericin 3/day (LI 164) but I've read in many posts on this forum that this Kira version is less powerful and it's not the same as taking Kira 900mg one-a-day.
Can someone explain me why? Are the herb extracts different? Is there any real difference in taking the 300mgx3 version instead of the 900mg a day?
Please reply! Many thanks.

I also was taking Kira 3x300 a day. I'm pretty sure this is the correct dosage.
(However today I switched to Amoryn since I've been so impressed by what I read about it.)

I think the 3x300mg a day would be the same as 1x900mg a day. In fact I would personally prefer the former, as it gives you the flexibility to choose when to take them... including the option to take one at breakfast, lunch and supper if you choose to. I doubt there'd be any difference between the two unless it says so on the box.
Alx, what do you think of Amoryn?

Hi Kelly,
yes, I started taking the Amoryn yesterday, after two weeks on Kira. Although there could be other factors involved, I think I felt an immediate boost in energy. In fact this morning is the first day in many years when I felt I did not need to have my morning espresso. (But I had it anyway ;)) So I don't know -- it could be the 5-HTP or the B-vitamins, and I don't know if it will last. Or it could be that I've also been supplementing my SJW with 2 hours of daily yoga.
It was incredibly annoying however that I was charged a $52 "customs brokerage fee" by UPS Canada for ordering this Amoryn from the US. (The product itself was $40.)
But other than that, so far so good, yet is probably too early to tell.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the customs fees. I ordered Perika though a mailorder place in the U.S. and while my order was over $100, I remember the customs and duty was terribly high. :( It's quite hard to find a Canadian supplier though, let me know if you find one that does mailorder!
