I'm on my second week of Kira but was so impressed by what I read about Amoryn that I ordered some of that too. So I'm consdering switching to Amoryn when it arrives, since a few years ago I'd already taken Kira for 5 weeks and its effects were Ok but not all that great. And I have been reading about GREAT improvements on Amoryn.

So I'd love to hear any recent experiences with Amoryn, esp. in comparison with "regular" SJW such as Kira. Btw, I suffer from dysthymic disorder (mild depression).

Alx,

Haven't heard of too many people taking Amoryn yet, I suspect because it's so much more expensive than the other brands. It will be interesting to hear your experiences after you've tried it for a while though.

Cheers, Kelly.

Kelly,

I'm not sure that Amoryn is so much more expensive. A month's supply costs $30 US, but a 6 month's supply is $100. When you add shipping, comes down to about $20 US per month. True, the Kira brand here in Vancouver is about $20 Canadian per month, but the Amoryn also includes 5-HTP and B-vitamins. So yes, it's more expensive, but not prohibitively so, considering the above. I'm not sure what I'll do about that $52 customs brokerage fee however... ;)

True, $20 U.S. is not that bad for a month's supply and it's good idea to buy in larger quantities to get a better deal. But in fairness I recall Perika being only about $8 U.S. a bottle of 60 tablets, so a month's supply would be under $15... plus shipping cost and the outlandish Canadian Custom's import fees we both seem to be paying... I can't recall my total right now, will have to find the invoice...

When I step back and think about it, I used to often tell people that saving a few dollars on a cheaper brand will cost much more in the long run. It's hard to put a price on mental health, after all... but the Perika seems to be working for now and is a very well known and respected brand too. I might try Amoryn for the next go-round just to see, though.

Cheers,
Kelly

Wow, didn't realize Perika was so inexpensive. Also, I just realized that Amoryn's prices mentioned above are for 60 capsules at 2 per day, but when eventually one switches to 3 a day mothly expense will go up. So yeah, you had a point about Amoryn being more expensive, and I'm considering going back to Kira. :) As for Perika vs. Kira, there's something about German (perceived?) reliability that is irresistible. ;)
