"Amoryn" , Wed 12 Nov 13:30

I have been off SSRIs for several months now and am enjoying the return of my libido. Unfortunately, I am not enjoying the return of my anxiety/panic symptoms. Am considering trying Amoryn. Anybody out there with experience with this product?
Thanks

I have been researching Amoryn also after coming off of Lexapro(bad stuff).
But have decided to go with the Perika Brand of SJW, after doing a lot of research, studies have been done claiming it has the highest amount of the active ingredient, and the most consitent amount batch to batch. Definitely do a bit more research, I just got a funny feeling about the Amoryn brand and claims. Good Luck!!!

Actually Perika contains less hyperforin than Amoryn. Amoryn has 5% hyperforin and Perika has 3%. This may be the reason why Amoryn costs more.

Thanks Faith and Brucifer. Haven't made up my mind yet, but I am going to look into Perika as well.

After looking at the price comparison, and the comparable clinical studies, I decided to order the Perika. I also like the fact that the Perika is manufactured in Germany where the regulaory oversight should be much greater for an herbal product than it is in the US. Thanks for your input.

The Saint John's Wort extract in Amoryn is actually manufactured in Germany by a European pharmaceutical company. It contains 5% hyperforin, while Perika only contains 3%, so Amoryn is about 66% more effective per mg of Saint John's Wort. Also, since Amoryn contains 450mg per capsule, while Perika contains only 300mg, a capsule of Amoryn actually contains 133% MORE ACTIVE INGREDIENT then a capsule of Perika. You'd have to take 5 capsule per day of Perika to get the same amount of hyperforin as 2 capsules of Amoryn.

I've heard good things about Perika. Don't think it's a bad choice. But I went with Amoryn and it really worked wonders.

Best of luck,
Tammy

I wanted to ask you if you mind telling me, what you have been diagnosed with? I am wanting to get off Effexor XR but I am trying to find an alternative. I have severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder and mild agoraphobia. I can't be without something it just causes the anxiety to progress ... so I was wondering about Amoryn.. and saw that you said it was good...

I haven't heard of the stuff before, but their freaky-happy website is too wierd for me. Too many blanket promises with too many generic pictures of happy people. Like on the ingredients page - "They must be DOCTORS because they have white coats and stethoscopes!"

It seemed to work for somebody: http://www.sjwinfo.org/forums/Brands/messages/10439.shtml

The main thing is that it works for you. If not, you could always try another brand.

They've taken a page (literally) from the perscription drug companies when it comes to marketing this. I too am put off by this and wonder if they just didn't hire models for their adds maybe I could pay less for the product. Very cheesey, but middle America will go for it, because it "looks" legit.

I also notice that when I do a search on Google for "Bioneurix", the "corporation" that supposedly makes this stuff (according to the Amoryn website), I can't find any information. Maybe the "corporation" is so new that it doesn't have a website, or any information written up about them (which makes me a bit suspicious about their marketing practices).
