Do any of you also take fish oils or OMEGA 3 fatty acids? I notice that fish oils also help with my depression in a very noticable way. I can tell if I don't take it. For some reason it's not the same as taking, say, flaxseed oil, although they say they're about the same as far as the fatty acids.
Also, does anyone take Rosavin with their sam-e?
What brand of Sam-e do you find to be most effective for you?

Thanks!
Gina

Re: fish vs. flaxseed oil, the difference is that flaxseed oil contains alpha-linolenic acid that needs to be converted to EPA and DHA, whereas fish oil contains the EPA and DHA. We have a limited ability to do this conversion, though women convert to DHA better than men (due to fetuses needing DHA). If your goal is EPA and DHA, and you're not vegan, take fish oil. As for brand, I'm still researching. A Canadian company tests them, but only a few have been tested for purity, lack of rancidity, and lack of heavy metals that fish oil can contain. Another company is http://www.consumerlab.com/news/news_071205.asp
but I haven't subscribed yet. Probably will tonight.
As for SAM-e, NOW, Schiff, Vitamin Research Products are reliably good across the board, and I'm told that NOW uses the company that patented SAM-e for theirs. I'll be checking consumerlab.com for their results, too.
