Hello, has anyone switched from Effexor to SJW? If so can you take them both at the same time as you ween off?
what are the sexual side effects of SJW? and are there any dietary restrictions? I am just now checking this out and sorry for all the questions! April

I have actually switched the other way (SJW to Effexor).
I took Effexor (75mg per day) for four days last week and came off it. I found it made me incredibly groggy and spaced out by day and gave me insomnia by night. After four days I was a bleary-eyed zombie. I absolutely hated it.
By contrast, I took SJW from 2002-2005. It worked wonders for me for a couple of years, but unfortunately at around the end of 2004 the beneficial effects started to wear off. I had no side effects with SJW whatsoever.
The Effexor, as well as causing grogginess, produced the usual prescription medication sexual anaesthesia.

I was also on Effexor for 4 days and couldn't take it anymore. My anxiety increased so much I actually had to take time off work (I never ever miss work). I have been off Effexor for 5 days now and on sjw for 5 days. I feel a bit better but still anxious (not nearly as much before). The "out of body experience" is a little better but the days are still rough. I also had a great experience on sjw in the past...fingers are crossed that it will starting working again...very soon

Sorry April...your question wasn't really addressed. When I was inquiring about sjw, the girl told me not to take it at the same time and to give the Effexor a few days to get out of my system. Since I was on Effexor for such a short time she said taking the sjw immediately would be okay. I'm not really sure how much I could rely on her information though. How long have you been on Effexor?
When I was on sjw in the past I didn't notice any side effects, but good ones...my attitude was great and it actually put me in the "mood" mentally. I don't remember any dietary restrictions so there probably wasn't any.

Thank you so much everyone for your responses, I really appreciate it. I was thinking of trying to switch from Effexor to SJW. Effexor has really terrible withdrawal effects, really bad, so that was why I was asking. You have to wean off of it really really slowly. I will probably wait to even do this because I am having a hard time and shouldn't probably rock the boat right now. But SJW sounds great! Thanks again everyone!
