Hi to all who visited this wonderful site. Its very useful to a person like me who suffering from depression. I just asking, is there any effect on taking sjw and 5htp? Is there known good and bad to take up this thing. It is advisable to take both of them. And i just wondering if the are known clinical finding why sjw and 5htp didnt have positive effect on some individual? If hope the is someone who can post for my reply cause im very beginners with this thing... Thanks in Advance......

Hiya ravhav, I have been taking 5htp for nearly 4 months now and it has had great improvements with my sleeping, my moods lightened a little but not vastly. I have read an number of articles that recommend you don't take SJW and 5HTP together so I'm going to stick with one I have also heard that different brands have different effects. I am off to america in a few weeks so I am going to get hold of some natures own that alot of people on here recommend.

Ai also pixybell. Thanks for your wonderful reply. I hope im there are also someone who will benifit. I jsut humbly ask PIXYBELL if what brand of 5htp you are taking with cause i decide to take 5htp on the brand you are taking it up and also how much is that in your country so that i can have idea of the cost it has in our country. I hope that brand would be availabe here in the philippines, as far as i know, there are also store in the US name GNC which exist also in our country, i hope i will find it there.
Pls if you have time PIXYBELL, inform me of your development in battling your negative mood with the help of 5htp as your weapon. I would grestly appreaciate that coz, like others, need inspiration in taking up 5htp.

Thanks again for your reply. Wow, you invest so much on your condition:)Here, in our country depression didnt given much attention by most of people coz they much prioritize on basic needs and they didnt treat depression here as sickness. Thats why i love gathering information on how to treat depression so that i can also share this to others who also suffering with this condition. Friend, i think i will just try sjw for the meantime because it is much cheaper than 5htp:) Its a blessing to you that you can afford all the resources available in your country. If i start taking with 5htp, i will ask you maybe someday if i have a problem with this.

I hope your sjw works for you and yes I am fortunate to live in a country where things are relatively easy to access. I hope that things workout for you and improve let me know how you get on and I'll do the same about my 5htp.

Hiya Reyhav,
The brand I am taking is from a health food shop over here, but next week I'm going to New York and I will be getting some Natures Way 5HTP you can also buy it on the net www.iherb.com it seems to be a popular choice amongst people who have used it and it seems relatively inexpensive. I am paying about £15 for 60 tablets at the moment but I know it is cheaper in America and over the internet.
I was taking zopliclone sleeping tablets for over five years and ended up addicted to them, I was also taking lofepramine an antidepressent for years as the new ones didn't work for me and I had to resort to the old type of tablet. My doctor continued to write me prescriptions and after one night when I left my sleeping tablet at home whilst staying with friends and sat up the whole night I decided enough was enough. I started looking into alternatives, I now have accupuncture and reiki (when I can fit it in) along with the 5htp.
At first I must admit I started off on the highest dose of 100mg a day and for the first few weeks I felt great, along with the accupuncture my sleeping was good, not great but much better. I will say the effects have diminshed a little but that might be the brand thats why I'm going to try a new brand see if that helps. I have good days and bad days my moods are sometimes a little down and I feel like nothing will help but I seem to be having a few more good days than I did so I have my fingers crossed.
