"nausea & St. John's Wort" , Thu 26 Jan 12:26

I just started taking SJW yesterday for anxiety, after being on an SSRI for 7+ years, (stopped the SSRI back in November.)
My question is has anybody else experienced nausea when first taking it? I took the first dose yesterday with food, it upset my stomach, then I took one this morning with no food, still became nauseous. Just wondering if this is something that may pass when my body gets use to it?
Thanks for any information..
Jeannine

Hi, I take SJW all in one go just before I go to bed, that way if my stomach is quesy, I can sleep it off, feel fine by the morning and still enjoy the effects of SJW as it lasts 24 hours.

I get lightheaded and dizzy which leads to my nausea. I will try it at night. Do you take a few pills at night or is their one brand of sjw that has all the miligrams needed that I could take 1 pill at nite? I wasn't sure if you could take all the miligrams at one time.

If there are other noticeable symptoms, I'd say you're getting too much serotonin and probably shouldn't be taking SJW (or should try a smaller dose). If there aren't any other symptoms, it may just be a result of the unexpected change in your neurochemistry and will hopefully go away eventually (sudden shifts can sometimes cause nausea).

I take three 300 mg capsules, from the UK holland and barratt brand. I have been taking them all in one go at bedtime for about 7 weeks now with no ill effects and they are relly working for me.
