just wondering, for people that have experience with both SJW and prescription antidepressants, how would you say the antidepressant effects of St. John's Wort compare to the prescription drugs?

I tried SJW for two weeks and there were some positive results ie better sleep and alleviation of depression. BUT, I ended up back on paxil because SJW doesn't treat anxieties which meant recurring anxiety attacks minus the depression (strange I know!)

There are side effects with Paxil like sexual disfunction, but these are just temporary and Gingko Biloba helps in that respect (so I'm told?)

SJW is also good when you have had too much alcohol and helps to reduce infections. Hope that helps.
