Can I just stop taking St. John's Wort cold turkey?
I've been taking 3 capsules daily for 10 weeks, with no noticeable effect on my clinical depression.
I have a bad skin rash that I'm assuming is from the St. John's Wort.

You may need to take all three supplements in prescribed strengths.

Hi,
What I meant to say was that I'm taking 3 capsules of St.John's Wort daily. No other supplements. Just St. John's Wort, approx. 1300mg per day in total. Each capsule contains 430mg of SJW oil extract.
I just want to stop taking it, cuz its having no impact on my clinical depression and the only effect I can perceive is the horrible skin rash I've developed.

I think it would be best to taper off of it. Try just taking two for a week , and then the next week take one, and then the next week, one every other day. and see how it goes. What brand are you taking? Sorry to hear about the rash....some people get that. So, the SJW must be having Some affect on you, even if you think it hasn't affected your mood, and I wouln't quit it cold turkey. I quit cold turkey once and my depression returned immediately. I was able to taper off slowly about 6 months later, and was ok.
