HELP ME PLEASE!!!! I have been diagnosed with depression and perscribed Paxil...I don't want to take it and I got some info on Amoryn. Has anyone had any success with Amoryn? I need to start it immediately. I have two kids to take care of and my husband has left us b/c of this!

Dear Lolobro,
I am really sorry to hear about your husband. There have been several good discussions regarding Amoryn here on the forum, if you don't get an answer to your question, you can always go in under search and pull up the previous posts to get info on it. I wish I could help but I haven't tried it. I did read their website but felt that the active ingredients were too low in dosage. I have read that if you want quick results, go with SAM-e. You might also check out this website for suggestions on how to go about trying different supplements for depression:

I found the book by Julia Ross, Mood Cure, very helpful.

Hi silke,
Thank you for responding. I can't believe how sad I feel and it scares me. One day will be ok and the next I am sobbing all day and can't feel a thing except sadness. I am scared and don't really know what to do with this. I have two kids to raise and I can't afford to be feeling this way. I get really dizzy and can't drive anymore. I wonder why God won't help?

Dear Lobobro,
There can be many reasons/causes of depression such as low thyroid which often goes undiagnosed, changes in hormones or even adrenal fatigue. Its important to find out if there is a physical problem causing your symptoms so that you know how to treat yourself or when and how to get help. It can be long process because doctors are not always helpful, but hang in there, it does get better! If you have been under a lot of stress for awhile, depleted B vitamins may play a part. I would image just the stress of what you are going through would qualify you for extra B's! Taking liquid vitamin B complex certainly helped me. You can find it at most grocery stores. Many people on the forum take an Omega 3 supplement, there is quite a lot of research on this being helpful, also for PMS related depression. With 2 kids, I don't imagine you have a lot of time to surf the net so if you have an idea of what might be behind your symptoms (stress, hormones, or whatever) I might be able to recommend a few websites which might be helpful.

I also have suffered for years, I am so bad with depression right now I am ruining my relationship that I have been in for the last 5 years and my job. I have everyone and everything. I have been put on paxil and xanax, but I have been on meds before and I still am not happy.. One doctor told me that maybe I was just a sad person. I really don't know what to believe. Is there any hope for us..

I'm sorry to hear about your depression. How long have you been suffering from it? How many doctors have you seen?How long have you been on Paxil and xanax? I have been on Amoryn for two weeks now and I feel like the depression is getting worse. The side effects say it can get worse before it kicks in. Anyone else experience this?

I've been seeing a general doctor for depression for about 8 years... sometimes i would tell him that the depression was really bad that i needed medicine... he gave me the xanax for a very short time... which does help for the anxiety. I started on prozac then went to zoloft, next remeron, then lexapro, now i'm on paxil again. but this time i am seeing a psychartrist. I hope it works for me.

I hope it works for you too! You have tried lots of different medicines. Why so many differnet meds? Did they not work? I will pray for you.
