"thinking of using st john's" , Wed 7 Dec 10:27

I happened to mention to a friend that sometimes maybe once or twice a month for a few days i feel kinda hopeless like everthing in my life sucks. i really hate moping around like that and she suggested i get some and take it on those days. my 2 questions are:
will it be effective if i dont take it all the time only sporadically?
Also, I have searched on the internet and i cant find any mention of it interacting with DHEA and TMG which I take.
I was wondering if anyone knew or could point me in the direction where i could find out.
thanx

Dear Katjane,
Here is an interesting article about DMAE, TMG and other methyl doners but it mentions SAM-e instead of SJW. It may be helpful anyway. He is trying to sell stuff but I think his articles are good.

This is an another article suggesting ways to combine SAM-e (methyl doner like DMAE/TMG) with SJW indicating that it is safe to combine the two forms of supplements.

Most people report needing to take SJW 3xdaily for up to 6 weeks before they experience its effects, however, for me personally, I feel its effects within 30 minutes each time I take it, even if I haven't taken it for awhile. The effects stabilize after several weeks, as initially the magnitude with which it works seems to vary. I carry the liquid form from Bioforce with me in a dropper bottle and whenever I feel my mood start to deteriorate, I just take a "squirt". It works quickly and no trying to find water to swallow a pill!
If you are just experiencing a mood change a few days a month, you may be better off trying 5HTP. I have had excellent luck with it for PMS. I can feel a positive effect from 1 50mg capsule within 15 minutes usually, great at work! Don't forget your B vitamins, particularily B6 and B12. When I changed to a liquid form of B complex with a high amount of B12, I saw a huge difference compared to tablets.
Hope this helps and good luck!
