Dear Mangler...do not become frustrated in your search for a dr/therapist. There are so many different personalities out there Id recommend making a few initial appts to see who best fits with your own personality. It can be trying to your patience for sure but i dont want to see you give up on seeking therapy because of a bad exp with a dr or therapist.

Hi, You should look for a psychologist or psychiatrist - if you know that you are interested in trying medication you should go straight to a psychiatrist. You could call up your local hospital and ask to be referred to one or even look in the yellow pages under physicians. Best of luck and know that things can and will get better!

Dear Mangler, You might consider picking up a copy of "Mood Cure" by Julia Ross. She covers 4 of the different types of depression and the supplements that help with each. You can find it in just about any of the big book store chains. The supplements she recommends are easy to find too, for example at GNC or The Vitamin Shoppe. The amino acids and 5HTP work very quickly, sometimes within 15 minutes depending on the individual.
