I was taking Lexapro and was only mildly relieved of my depression, and the side effects- sexual and weight gain- were not worth the little benefit... so I started looking for a natural, cost effective alternative...I found SAM-e...I took this for nearly a year and was releived of most of my depression symptoms. It is suggested that you take with a B vitamin, which I did. After about 6 months I was violently ill my Dr couldnt find what was wrong with me and hospitalized for some testing- it was from the SAM-e!!!!! So I went back to Rx, this time Wellbutrin xl- I have been taking this for about 2 months now and It seems to be working well, but because I do not have medical insurance I am still interested in taking a an herbal for cost....I am considering Amoryn. I am conserned it will not be effective, or worse will effect me adversly. Has anyone had any success with amoryn?
