Can someone explain the difference between valium and xanax. How long does it take to work? How long does it last?

Valium and xanax are both benzos, potentially addictive. They both work within a short time of taking them. Xanax is more potent per equivalent dose and persists in one's system for a shorter time period. (Elimination half-life of xanax is about 6 to 12 hours, valium at least three times that long or more). Here's a website that might help answer your questions: http://web4health.info/en/answers/bio-benzo-overview.htm
