"Headaches" , Mon 24 Oct 13:34

Hi there

I have been taking St John's Wort for nearly 2 weeks now and using a light box for about 20-30mins a day. Well I am not doing too badly and pleased I didn't start taking Cipromal - anti-depressants. I am being careful with the light box and reduced the time I spent in front of it as my eyes were a little sore but think I have that sorted. Also decided to take Vitamin B complex tablets, a boost of Vitamin C and Echinacea to help boost my immune system. I am far from feeling 100% but I am managing work and although I have good and bad days feel as if I am making some headway on my own.

Just wanted to ask if anyone gets a fuzzy head from SJW ?- not really a painful headache but you know it is there. Sometimes have trouble sleeping but not every night. Would be pleased of any replies to my question and any more ideas of things to try to keep things on an even keel so to speak.

Thanks for reading this and remember keep smiling - you can do it - it just takes time.

Isadora

I was taking B vitamins with the sjw for a while and had headaches. I think when I first started sjw I had a side effect of headache too, but just for a few days, then OK.

When I first started using the light box, I got headaches. And it made me feel really buzzed, I had trouble falling asleep. So, it could be a side affect from the light box. But, years later when I started SJW, I again got little headaches and had the same buzzed feeling......so......hummm.....could be either the lights or SJW. Aren't I helpful?? I just decreased the use of the lights, and slowly built up my time in front of them, and years later with the SJW, slowly increased it, and didn't have any more problems. Now I just find myself adjusting things as needed.

Hi there

Thanks for the replies about the headaches. I have not had the headache today so perhaps I am slowly getting there - always afraid to be really optomistic, as like me, you will know sometimes no two days are the same!!! However I am quite pleased with myself and that I may have found a way of coping.
It helps being able to chat to others on here who know just what it is like not knowing how you are going to get through the next hour let alone a day. So if we help each other that can only be a good thing - the main thing we should remember is that we are not alone and we will get better. Keep you updated on progress and thanks again.
