Topic Title: How to stop St. John's wort

What a great site I've discovered in my search to find out how to stop St. John's wort. Thank you, Kelly! I've been on SJW for about a year and I want to stop for awhile. Any recommendations on stopping abruptly vs weaning off gradually? I will probably use Phosphoricum Acidum or Ignatia (homeopathics)if things get rough. Kinesiology testing is showing I'm reacting to my brand of SJW and I really don't want to try another brand (I saw this Website's recommendations)at this time. THANKS FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!

I have been using St. John's Wort for about a year and I suddenly decided to stop taking it because I want to get pregnant. I went off cold turkey and had pretty bad insomnia for about a week, dissiness and headaches. I am feeling better now, but I really do notice the difference between how I felt when I was taking it and how I feel now. St. John's Wort really does work and helps to control my anxiety and mild depression. I will get back on it again when I can.

Hi Diane! Glad you're finding the site useful. :-)
I would highly recommend tapering off, so if you're taking 3 capsules today, try 2 for a week or two, then 1, and then nothing. I think it's a really good thing to try going off it after a year and see how it goes. Best of luck!!

Here is how to stop:
Instead of putting the pill in your mouth, don't put it in your mouth. Just kidding, but seriously your only problem is most likely the original problem you were treating with SJW returning.
