I am not familiar with cliropram, but it sounds as though your husband's doctor, for whatever reason, felt this antidepressant was not working for him and switched to prozac -- if your husband liked the first antidpressant he needs to tell the doctor.

Virtually all antidepressants take a few weeks to work, and it can be a frustrating experience of four-week or more trials of several medications to find the right one. Antidepressants, including Prozac, may take three weeks, more or less, to start working, possibly longer to feel the full benefit. Unfortunately no single antidepressant works for everyone. Try to be patient, and try to keep positive communication going. If questions about treatment come up, including questions about Saint John's Wort, make a note so they are discussed at appointments.

I attempted suicide several years ago, have been through ups and downs since, have tried many different medications, counseling etc. Things are better now. Wish you well.

There might be some withdrawl symptoms going on too from stopping the cliropram. The Prozac hasn't taken full effect just yet which makes it more difficult.

When one is severly depressed he may be incapable of putting effort into anything at all. Everything, even what might seem the smallest and most insignificant things to someone who is not severely depressed, can literally be overwhelming. Your husband may not be able to take on much responsibility for a while. I agree it must be difficult.
