Hey all. Been taking SJW for about a week now. In the past I have been on doxepin twice with good results (weight gain sucked tho). Never any luck with SSRI's as they made me worse. Anyway, thus far with SJW I am not feeling much different as my general malaise (sp?) continues. I will try SJW for a full month tho. Question, has anyone noticed an increase in sweating or skin oilyness? Man, am I sweating a lot and my hair gets super greasy by the dinner hour (I shower each AM and wash my hair). Anyone notice a similar reaction? Or am I just pleasantly weird as usual? :)

I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO HAS HAD A WEIGHT GAIN FROM (SJW). ALSO, HAS ANYONE NOTICED AN INCREASE IN BLOOD PRESSURE WHILE TAKING THIS PRODUCT.

I too am worried about weight gain on SJW, this being the reason I have stopped taking Prozac. If it works in a similar way to SSRI's does it follow that it will have the same side effects to a lesser degree ? Also does it affect libido ? Someone asked if it causes water retention, it does actually have diuretic propeties so this should not be the case. I worry about slow long term weight loss. It's also making me feel sick !

Hi,
I have read numerous trials where SJW was used in humans. Side effects that are most often reported include things like dizziness, stomach upset and sensitivity to sunlight (this is actually rare). I can not recall that I have read anything about sweating. However, if you experience dizziness, i could see how that might lead to sweating or related effects.
Additionally, I have read many a post here at Kelly's and do not remember anyone having these effects.
Are you taking anything else along with the SJW?
Where do you live? Perhaps the humidity has been up in recent days and might be causing your sweats.
Of course, it is always possible that it is the SJW.

Hi,
I live near Toronto and it hasn't been humid or hot recently. I have noticed that the bright sunlight is bothering me...same as with the doxepin. I take two glucosimine sulfate/chondroitan pills each day for joint pain. Could that be the issue? Other than that, the occasional aspirin.

I have been having hot sweats, I live in the UK now, and it's quite chilly here at the moment ! I have just stopped prozac though so this may be a withdrawal from that !

I had a lot of side effects, including sweating, most of which lessened over time. Have also noticed a difference of side effects between brands. Feel fortunate to have no side effects with the brand I currently take.
