Topic Title: 8th day...frustrating
| | "8th day...frustrating" , Wed 14 Sep 03:39
Hi, I`m on my 8th day now and can`t feel any improvement yet. I could do with the side effects(feeling tired and continous muscle fasciculations)if I knew things are going to change. It`s very frustrating. Some 2 days ago I felt bit better but the clarity went away by the next morning. Is it normal not to feel ANY improvement for 3-4 weeks? How long before a change? I`m taking a farmaceutical brand of SJW, on the box is writen: 45-65%(m/m) Hyoerici herba 4-7 : 1 , 250mg(0.5mg totale hipericine). It`s to be taken a pill/twice a day. Am I taking the right thing? I would appreciate any advice. Dania

Took about 6 weeks before truly noticed a difference. Stick with it and give it chance.

Dania,
SJW and other herbal supplements work much differently than a prescription drug in that their effects will not be felt immediately for most people. Andrew Weil, a leading naturopath wrote an article about this a while back... Sorry but i don't have the link.
Basically, he suggested that any natural supplement you try should be taken for a period of at least 8 weeks. This is supported by numerous clinical trials. Most of the trials where people saw improvement in their mood lasted at least 4 weeks and ran as high as 12 weeks.
Stick with it. If SJW is the right herbal for you, you should begin seeing results in a few more weeks.
