"Need ideas to correct side effects" , Fri 9 Sep 14:26

Hi all, I need advice,

I began taking St. John`s Wort few days ago for depression. Mean time I ordered: 5-HTP, Vinpocetine, Suntheanine and SAMe, all arriving in 3 weeks time.
St. John`s Wort created some problems; I became extremely tired while my anxiety raised, I tend to forget things worst than before taking it(not the depression type of forgeting, more like not being able to focus on little things I do)I feel kind of foggy, the level of energy is even lower and lost my appetite. The depression it`s slowly lifting up(in spite the state of mind described above I feel more optimistic) but I`m wandering if these side effects will subside. If not I might need some supplements to correct them.
It crossed my mind that maybe SJW`s effect on dopamine (I did try Tianeptine with about same results while Elavil worked for me for a long time.) My questions would be:

Do you think the supplements I ordered will correct the side effects?
What can I do till they arrive?
Did or does anybody feel the same? If so what did you do about it?

I would appreciate any suggestion.
Dania

I used to feel the same way when I was taking pills in the morning, noon and evening. To correct the problem I take 1 pill at about 7 pm and two more right before bed. In addition I take B6.
Are you sure you need 5-HTP on a top of SJW? I was taking 5-HTP for a few month and all I felt was a calmness and sleepiness.
I quit 5-HTP and started SJW - the difference was amazing.

I guess the first step is figure out what kind of neirotransmitter disorder you have. Take a look here: http://www.crossroadsinstitute.org/neurotransmit.html
