Can you be SPECIFIC about how SJW helped you? I read a lot of "it was subtle", "it was vague", and I'm wondering if it's even worth trying in my current state.

Right now, my absolute worst symptom (there are others, but most stem from this I believe) is OVERTHINKING. I overthink everything -- it is safe to say I am 'thinking my life away'. Sometimes my head physically hurts from all the activity!

I had extensive, sweet relief from this on SSRI's. Has anyone had relief from such a brain tendency on SJW?

I think SJW helps me a lot in my ruminating/overthinking. I still have the same horrible life experiences going on, but somehow, I'm not drowning in them, but am able to live more in the right here and now, this very moment. I seem more able to say to myself, oh well, can't do anything about that situation, and then let it go, tell myself to stop thinking about it, and am able to. I'm able to change my thinking like the books say to do, and it works.....I'm thinking of David Burn's book right now, Feeling Good. Without SJW, all the suggestions in his book sound utterly stupid. With SJW, they seem....hummm...possible.... maybe....I guess I do feel better when I tell myself some of those things, put a less negative spin on things....

Saint John's Wort has helped me with everything with which SNRIs (specifically effexor, which affects both serotonin and norepinephrine) and some tricyclics helped (SSRIs did not work for me), including difficulty making decisions, lifting of suicidal thoughts which occurred primarily early in the day, limited help with energy and motivation. When I began taking SJW I had depression which was varying from moderately high to severe. In the past I have been most responsive to antidepressants which affected norepinephrine more than serotonin, but had major problems finding any prescription medication which worked and/or held up over time. I currently take a high dose of ginkgo biloba in conjunction with a low dose of sjw. While I am definitely not 100%, I am much better, and sjw has helped me with obsessing over details in making decisions. If you decide to try it, I'd advise ramping up. It took some time for me to find a good dose, and ramping up and down helped with that.
