Topic Title: wellbutrin
| | "wellbutrin" , Sun 7 Aug 14:55
I started taking wellbutrin a week ago - seven days to be exact. My dr prescribed 150 mg 3 times daily, then 2 a day thereafter. The side effects are NOT GOOD - dry mouth, rapid heart, headache, nausea - How long does it take for the side effects to go away? Should I keep taking it another week - these anti-depressents are so confusing! I was on Zoloft for about a year and gained 20 lbs. I went on Effexor and it didn't seem to do much so quit about 5 mos ago. I am under a lot of pressure and worried about depression again so started on wellbutrin. Any words of advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

You now have the option to take natural supplements for mental health problems instead of drugs! ( These products were not available back in 2000 when I was forced to take antidepressants like Wellbutrin and effexor.) Enjoy your research!

Well, this message forum is about St. John's Wort, but some of us here have experience with wellbutrin as well (myself included). The doctor who prescribed it to you should have given you a good idea of how long to wait, generally it's at least a few weeks to a month to really take effect... a week is far to soon to decide on anything. You have to give it time!! At least a month!

The amount of time it takes me on anti-depressants,takes me 6 weeks to get some relief and 8 weeks to kick in.I have major depression and it is for me, resistant to medications. I hope wellbutrin does good for you.I finally found one that worked for me.MOE
