"BAD experience with Amoryn" , Tue 12 Jul 00:42

Hi. First off, this is a wonderful message board. I got myself addicted to Ultram due to back pain/injury. When I got off it I had very bad depression. Very bad. After I leveled out I began taking Amoryn. Expecting relief, about two weeks into it, I had horrible agitation and the worst irritability I have ever experienced and the absolutely worst insomnia. It was not the Ultram withdrawal. I had already been through that. I got auto messages from the Amoryn website that I should order their other (anti-anxiety) product, Seredyne if I was experiencing discomfort. Has anyone else ever had a bad reaction while they were adjusting to SJW? I got the impression from these automatically generated emails from the Amoryn site that this is fairly normal. According to the testimonials, etc. I was led to believe that I would starrt feeling beter with no nasty side effects. I couldn't ride it out and quit but I would like to try SJW again but not like that. I read a post tonight about someone being a bit bonkers for the first 10 days and taking all the meds at once at night as some sort of a strategy Kelly had devised. I couldn't find original post. ANY info or ideas on this would be most appreciated. I want to experience the benefits of SJW but is going through H--- first normal? it realy isn't an option for me at this time.
Thank you all in advance for any info/ideas.

"Another bad amoryn experience" , Tue 12 Jul 12:16

I was going to post exactly the same thing. I have been taking 2 amoryn capsules daily for ten days and this morning I felt so agitated after I took one capsule with my breakfast. I have not dare take another today. My agitation did decrease in the afternoon.

I do not know whether to decrease to one capsule or stop. I had not had any profound side effects until today, ie sleeping ok, no headaches.

I was confused by a post by BEN the CEO who stated the Sam-e can cause anxiety when one of the supposed benefits of amoryn was for the body to produce more Sam-e. Maybe this is why I felt so agitated.

Hi Marcus,
Who is Ben and what is he the CEO of? Sorry about your experience. It really made me (more)mad when they started telling me to order another product to alleviate my anxiety. Besides that, the consultant with whom I spoke could hardly speak English.
Grrrrrr.
