Topic Title: Zolof V St Johns Wort
| | "Zolof V St Johns Wort" , Fri 20 May 00:20
I have been prescribed Zoloft very recently but have been reluctant to take it due to what I have read here and on other discussion boards. I also have access to SJW and thought that it might be a better alternative. However, I do realise that SJW is only a herbal remedy and therefore might not be as fast acting or useful as a prescribed medicine. Am I best off taking the Zoloft? Or should I just go for the SJW? Are there any alternatives via prescription that I could ask my doctor for? I want to get this right, being already over-weight I'm certainly not interested in putting on weight. What’s the best solution??!

You will certainly need to be very patient with SJW, and persistent because it is indeed slow to act. This means taking the same dosage every day with food, and not missing pills or days in between. The progress is very slow, but believe me it is worth it! I am only 4 weeks in, and the results are great

Hi, In German studies st. johns wart was as effective as paxil for clinical depression. You have to be patient with st. johns wart because it may take up to six weeks to really show benifits. I have been taking it for a year and it has greatly improved my quality of life. It is very important to use a quality brand like perika. check the brand forum. good luck. take care
