Topic Title: Trying to get rid of heart palpitations
| | "Trying to get rid of heart palpitations" , Sun 8 May 22:27
Hello,
I have used SJW for a little over two years, and although it helps me a lot, ever since the beginning it has always given me worrisome heart palpitations. I have read that magnesium and/or and fish oil supplements are supposed to help, but I take a good dose of fish oil daily without any effect on the palpitations and magnesium citrate supplementation has not helped either.
Is there anything else that has worked for someone here to reduce palpitations?
Thanks for any information.

H20buffalo,
In my case the usual nasties seem to exacerbate palpitations / irregular heart rhythms. Alcohol is definitely the main offender (sorry) but add to that list tea, coffee, stress and over-tiredness.
.....whereas the usual boring, wholesome things are good, such as exercise and diet.
Sheephead.

Yes...just cut caffeine down to zero for couple of days and see if that helps!! it always works for me.
Good luck.

Hi Folks-
Thanks much for your advice.
I tried going off coffee completely several times, and the eventual results were always disastrous, but since reading your posts I have been taking only a very small amount and this has indeed reduced my SJW heart palpitations a lot.
I used to drink a level TABLEspoon of strong instant coffee powder each morning (and occasionally another in the afternoon). Now I have only 1/2 TEAspoon in just a dash of water and a dash of milk. This is enough to keep my brain from going bezerk and yet the heart palpitations are much less.
Thanks again for posting.
