THE best brand hands down is Carltons Cod Liver Fish oil. It's from Norway. My whole family usesit and we even give a little to the dog for his nerves, coat and over all health. Promotes clear thinking, helps w/ depression, eating, over all health. Heres the info from a web site about the product. Also, heres the link to buy it. You can get it at a store, but the link has a cheaper price.: http://www.mercola.com/store.htm Fish Oil and Cod Liver Oil: The Most Highly Recommended Brands for Essential Omega-3
Fish oil and cod liver oil are the only viable source of Omega-3 with DHA and EPA, which most Americans dangerously lack but is essential for fighting and preventing disease and living longer. The Living Fuel Omega 3 & E and Carlson's brands are the two I most highly recommend and offer here for their high-purity and potency.
If you have difficulty digesting the cod liver oil or just cannot tolerate the taste, Carlson has the perfect solution -- Carlson's Cod Liver Oil Softgels with Low Vitamin A. Convenient and easily digestible, these softgels are one of the best ways to ensure you are getting everything you need -- essential Omega 3 and vitamin D -- plus Vitamin A.
In addition to the high-quality fish oil with omega-3, Living Fuel Omega 3 & E also provides you the full-spectrum vitamin E with tocotrienols/tocopherols that anyone taking fish oil should be also be consuming (read why here).
Note: Unless you are regularly getting your vitamin D levels checked, you should be switching from Fish Oil to Cod Liver Oil around Fall/Winter, and from Cod Liver Oil to Fish

You want something with a high level of EPA (the most beneficial component in fish oil). I'd stay away from cod liver oil which is relatively low in EPA. Check out the i-herb website. Country Life and Source Naturals are two brands that supply 1,000 mg. of EPA in 2 gel caps. You should be taking at least 1,000 mg. per day of EPA.
