"3rd week and nothing." , Wed 20 Apr 16:28

Hi all, I started taking SJW on Easter weekend. No coincidence just when I happened to buy it. Anyway, it's been like 3 weeks now and I don't see any change for the better. I am very sleepy lately and it interferes with my day. I take 2 tablets of 300mg each two times a day. That's 300 more then recommended. So my question is what's going on? Is it too early to tell whether or not it's working? And should I change my dosage due to sleepiness?

Yeah, you should always pick a reputable brand as some work while others don't.

Hi!
Hate to tell you this, but it took me 8 weeks before I felt sjw kick in. And yes, it did make me feel sleepy at times, but that has passed. No side effects now. I've been taking the pills since Feb, 4th. Don't give up, however some say after four to six weeks, if you are still not feeling better emotionally, you might want to change brands. Good Luck!

How many mgs are each pill? I take a simple generic Wal-greens brand. I've been on for about 3 weeks as well and I noticed the change almost immediatley. I started with 3 pills every day, but I took them at night before bed as many reccommend. My pills are 300mg each. You can play with your dosage. I started on the 4th pill this week to experiment and I feel and extra kick of energy and no longer feel sleepy. I'd suggest playing with your dosage. I hear it's okay to flucuate between 900mg and 1200. Slowly start though and keep your brand consistant. I'm staying on Wal-Greens brand until it starts to lose effect. Thats will be the only reason for me to change. Good luck!

by the way:
I just read your mg's per pill. The recommended minimum dosage is 900mg. You're taking only 600. People only take less if the 900 is too much. Check other brands or research and you'll see that the recc. is always at least 900mg

first off thanks to all who chimed in with your thoughts. I am still sleepy, and i take a normal brand; can;t remeber off the top of my head but i get it at vitamin world. And i am taking 1200 mg a day, 2 pills 2 times a day, 300mg each = 1200mg. So you all say keep at it. Well ok, i'll take your advice.

Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd mention that in addition to the number of miligrams in each pill/capsule, it's really important to check how much hypericin/hyperforin is in each pill as well. Many brands have 0.3%, but I've seen many that have only 0.15% so you'd have to take twice as much. It's a little misleading... but I suspect different brands do this on purpose.

In addition to checking the .03 or .15 % it's important to experiment with brands. I hear of some brand s you can order via the internet but I am on my 4th week and I am great with a Wal-Greens brand. Just experiement until you find the right one and dosage

I am using a .3% dosage...plus on a really big side note, its been exactly one month since i started SJW and i have been bleeding (i'm a girl) for basically the whole month, it's nothing big just spotting. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this because i don't want to discontinue using SJW, its starting to really help.
