Hi, I'm new to this web site and glad I found it :o) What I would like to know is, what would the side affects be by taking SJW along with prozac? Would it be too much, as in to trigger a manic phase or would it do the adverse reaction and cause symptoms of depression and tiredness? Thank you for your replies :o)

Hi BPGirl-
I'm not a doctor, and supplements do effect different people differently, but I agree with Mr. Lovely. I've taken Prozac before, and I take SJW now. Although SJW works much better for me, because it doesn't wipe out my libido and the ability to orgasm, they are both believed to raise serotonin. SJW is thought to raise additional important neurotransmitters as well, but taking the two together sounds like a very unwise idea to me. I don't see any potential benefit of taking both together, and the danger of serotonin syndrome is real.

P.S. I'm sorry if this is a no brainer, but are you taking a high-quality fish oil product? Fish oil is famously beneficial for bipolar.

There is the possibility of serotonin syndrome, which is potentially lethal.
Not a smart idea....
