I've been on Lexapro (10 mg) for two months and the results have been very good. My depression and anxiety have pretty much disappeared. For the first week I felt pretty spacey and out of it, but that has gone away. I was on St. John's Wort before Lexapro, but it just wasn't strong enough for me. My mood swings are basically gone, and I don't obsess about things anymore. I would give it a try.

Hi dpm,
Thanks a lot for your feedback on Lexapro. I'm on day 5 in taking 5 mg., and have experienced some of the spacey/out of it side effect feelings you wrote about, not to mention sleepiness. I hope to have a positive outcome from it all, as I stick with it. Best of luck to you.

Hi Naci, I started taking Lexapro (10mg) in September 2004 for anxiety with underlying depression. The anxiety and depression lifted within a week. I felt so much happier and relieved. Not since childhood had I felt this good. Lexapro is probably the BEST AD medicine I've ever taken. I've tried Effexor, Zoloft, & Remeron with moderate success. The only problem I've encountered was insomnia. I still get sleep, but it's like my internal clock is screwed up. I lie down to sleep around 11:00 pm, but cannot fall asleep until around 1:30 am - 2:30 am. This caused a problem for me when I would work in the mornings (having to get up at 4:45). My doctor put me on Sonata to fall asleep, but I'm afraid to keep using meds to fall asleep. So, for now, I've decided to stop taking the meds (doctor's suggestion) because sleep is extremely valuable to me. I might go back on a lower dosage in about a week as I am beginning to feel the anxiety, depression symptoms again. But it might be withdrawals. I'll see in a week or so. If they are withdrawals, they're really not that bad. Effexor was hell! Well, anyways, Lexapro was wonderful for my anxiety & depression. Almost immediate results (at least in my case). The only problem was insomnia. I'd recommend giving it a try if everything else has failed. I guess it depends on how severe your symptoms are and if you've tried the herbal route first without success. I hope this offers some insight. If you want additional info about Lexapro, you can visit www.remedyfind.com . They have alot of reviews (good and bad). GL.
Mike.

Hello Mike,
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with Lexapro. I'm going to check that website out. I have had social anxiety and ocd since I was a child, it's now moderate. I have tried SJW,the best kind too, but didn't think it helped me that much. I'm going to give Lexapro a try (my doctor prescribed 10 mg. of it, but I was scared to take it).
Good luck to you as well.
Naci
