Hypercium vs hyperforum - http://www.sjwinfo.org Forums
I have heard that hyperforum may be the active ingredient in St. JOhn's wort and not hypercium. This may explain why the recent JAMA article on st. john's wort didnt find any significant difference from placebo....has anyone heard of this? I have only found st. john's wort with Hypercium so I am wondering if companies will change this.

I am currently taking Nature's Way Perika St. John's Wort which has standardized 3% Hyperforin. I take 1800 mgs per day and I think it is the best out there. I was taking GNC Standardized St. John's Wort which had .3%Hypericum. I feel the Perika is the top of the line and has made a tremendous difference. I have been taking it for 3 months. I tested my wife by telling her that I thought I should stop taking Perika now. She was adamant that I continue to take it! I feel so much better now. I think Hyperforin is the answer NOT Hypericum. However Hypericum is helpful...the active ingrediant is Hyperforin. And latest studies validate this.
