i've been reading this board alot , it seems a few people have claimed SJW only works for a short time normally it seems about 6 months , my guess is is that like just about every substance, weed , alcohol , asprin etc, your body will eventully build a tolerance to it , my guess is stop taking it for about 2 weeks every 3 months and let your body clean it out making sure you dont build a tolerance to SJW or anything else your taking.
also since no long term research has been done on most of these drugs it should help in that area by letting your body clean out. thats most definitly what i plan on doing with 5-HTP.
of course i could be wrong hehe :P.

I've been on SJW for about 5 years but never have seen it loose affect.

I have taken SJW in the past for a couple of years at a time and have never felt it loosing its effect. I could be that people change brands and the new brand they buy (a cheaper one) isn't up to snuff with the potency. I think you will find SJW to be pretty steady as I have know people that are on it for years and have never said anything about it loosing its strength.
When I did quit taking it a few years ago I just dropped off and had no side effects from doing so.
I just recently went back on (having a bump in the road, so to speak) and I have started on Natures Way "Perika" as it is a German company that makes it and I think you will find it to have a better record because it is a controlled substance in Europe and Gemany. Another good brand that WalMart used to sell was Kira (also Geman) but I am not sure if they carry it any longer as it was one of the more expensive brands. Natures Way is a great brand for all their products.. Good Luck !!!
