I keep reading about Kava-Kava on this page and the benefits of taking it with SJW. But when I went into a herbalist I was told it had been taken of the shelves in the UK. Is this true? Can anyone else give me any more info on Kava-Kava?
Thanks!

I use Kava Kava spasmodicly. My muscles are more inclined to tighten up then the average person, so any sort of muscle relaxant is great in my book. The only thing that I don't like about Kava Kava is that I have read that it is not so good for your liver. For this reason I don't have it all the time. I have it before I go out these days, I kind of see it as a treat. I have 30 drops in a glass of water and it does give me a very relaxed feeling. One time when I had it though, I was with a friend and I was thinking about something and then I thought that we had spoken about what I was thinking about. I said what were we just talking about again and we hadn't been talking. So yeah that was a bit trippy. Although it is not like that all the time.

In New Zealand Kava is used by the Pacific Island community as a traditional drink. I am not sure if Kava Kava is the same, but it sounds similar. Kava is drunk at celebrations and you can get quite out of it. It is similar to being drunk but can have some wild effects. You mouth goes all numb and you feel very happy, then when you try to stand up your legs don't work so well. It is funny to use, as it doesn't taste anything like alcohol, it actually tastes and looks like watery mud. I'm not sure if it's any good for depression and if it's the same I would advise against using it as an anti depressant.
