Topic Title: Spring Valley St John's Wort

Hi, I just found this site, and I took my first dose of SJW today. I was taking 100 mg of Zoloft and have weaned down to 75mg for 1 1/2 weeks, and just started taking 50 mg last night and will do that for a little over a week also.
The Spring Valley I bought came in a quantity of 60, and says to take one capsule 3X a day. I was just wondering if anyone else has used the Spring Valley (from Wal-Mart), and if anyone else took Zoloft before and switched to SJW and how it worked for them..

Spring Valley at Walmart is the brand that I am using as well. Although sometimes I wonder it's strength (on bad days) I haven't noticed a problem with it. I take 3 per day, as the recommended dosage is 900mg, and it does help. I've never used Zoloft or any other prescription anti-depressants, so I can't compare personally, but a friend of mine has switched from Zoloft to SJW (Spring Valley) and feels that she made the right decision as she feels wonderful! I hope this is helpful!

I took Spring Valley SJW for nearly 3 years and just stopped. I never took Zoloft or any other antidepressant except imipramine briefly, years ago. You should be careful mixing SJW with Zoloft. Has a doctor advised you on doing this?

I haven't spoken with my Doc about it, but I have tapered down from 100mg to 50mg on the Zoloft and next week I am going down to 25mg and then quitting it. I just didn't want to be on nothing at all in between.
