I have just started taking SJW and the first two nights I had extreme trouble sleeping. Has anyone else expericenced this? Just wondering if that is a normal side effect ? Thanks in advance for your replys.

I,ve also had trouble sleeping, I was taking 3 tabs moring lunchtime and just before bed. The past few days I,ve tried taking 2 in the morning and 1 at lunchtime which has made a differance I,m now sleeping a good 5 hours without waking up, this is great for me! Everybodys different, try experimenting taking the 3 earlier in the day.

Hi, I was already having trouble sleeping before taking SJW but I did find something that seems to help. Look at kava kava. SJW increased my anxiety a bit in the beginning, that might be why you are having sleep trouble. I have seen this mentioned before in Kelly's forum. I can't say it has any side effects for me, unless you call sleep a side effect.

When do you take the tablets? i find if i take one before i go to bed it helps me sleep much better. don't take all three at night though, they'll leave you drowsy for ages.

Thank god someone else has had this sympton. Everyone seems to say it makes them tired, but since I started taking it I find it takes me a lot longer to get to sleep, I've been on it for over a week, but I'm starting to get fed up with the extra anxiety, I feel like i'm getting depressed all over again.. will te anxiety go away.. kava is not available in australia...

I am also having trouble sleeping. Two weeks now on St. Johns and it has made me fell very tired but at night I can't seem to stay asleep. I've heard Kava talked about here but what dose is recommended.

Hi -
you may have seen some of my emails - started on SJW about 4 months ago and had really bad insomnia for the first couple of weeks. I would say it gradually settled down after about 2 months (second month a lot less) and now I can just about sleep quite well. Don't worry!! The extra anxiety did go for me and I thought I was the only one on the planet with this. I got so bad I had to go to the doctors to get some heavy-duty sleeping pills (which I managed to survive without for the most part).
Stick with it is my advice - the insomnia should go, and in the meantime stock up on some natural sleep-aids to help. If I was still as bad now on SJW with sleeping I probably would have given up on it, but here I am still taking it, so there is hope!
