A little about me...I'm just not happy. I found this site and I've been posting for a few weeks now. I hope I'm not boring anyone. I've been officially diagnosed with ADD, not depression. Haven't asked my doc about that. I prefer to research and treat myself before I get a doc involved.
I've been reading about Omega 3's, fish oil. Now, way back when I was doing some ADD stuff, I'd read about studies done in England...giving kids with add/adhd omega 3's. This, in England, showed a significant change in attention/concentration during school hours. Now, I'm reading that it helps with depression? Has anyone tried this? I bought some today. I used to take them regularly for years.
I was doing some searches tonight on L_Tyrosine. I kept running into these conversations about "protein intake", which is especially important to me...I'm a vegan for the last 10 or so years! I know for a fact that I'm not getting adequate protein. But, 3 days ago, I ate chicken for the fist time in years! I was reading that those of us who lack protein, lack tyrosine in our systems. Go figure! And, that lack of sufficient protein will not allow Rhodiola or L-Tyrosine to work efficiently. It looks like these two are mainly used by athletes. Those who consume significant amounts of protein for optimal results. I'm no longer vegan, btw...
THEN...I run across this http://www.webnat.com/healthinfo/BloodTypeTendencies.htm#TypeO Now I read "Eat for your Type" when it came out. But I'm an O and a vegan/was. That whole theory didn't work for me. This site is sorta funny, because it has all of my ailments based on blood type. I'm very curious as to how many of us fit this scenario. O types are typical of ADD and depression?? How many O types are reading?? This has me curious...
Nite, Jules ;-)

I'm type AB and it says that I am easily susceptable to stress. I've recently discovered that my depression is mainly stress related and by using Rhodiola I have managed to control my stress and depression.
This is very interesting since my father is also AB and he and I seem to have the same problems with stress and depression. My sisters have different blood types and they don't suffer from the stress related problems. Thanks for the info and perhaps I've unraveled a lifelong mystery.
