Can I take St. John's Wort and prescription Xanax(for panic) at the same time?

I'm not sure about the SJW, but I heard Kava Kava with Xanax causes an immediate coma. Make sure your sjw doesnt have any kava in it

For the record: the whole kava/xanax/coma thing is somewhat apocryphal. The interaction was reported in a letter to a medical journal, in which a guy was admitted to hospital in a "lethargic and disoriented state". Nothing to do with a coma.
The letter was entitled "Coma from the health-food store" and a legend was born. I still wouldn't combine the two (which would be dumb anyway), but it's over the top to suggest it is a recipe for "instant coma"

Thank for the reminder. I was aware not to combine two downers (kava, kava and xanax) I will be taking a long plane trip shortly and want to stay calm. Maybe I'll just take kava, kava (if need be) with the SJW. I take Solaray SJW with no kava, kava in it. I have xanax but won't take it if I can't find out about any interactions with the SJW. How long have you been on SJW, and how much do you take and when?
