Topic Title: Dr Bach Flower Remedies & SJW
| "Dr Bach Flower Remedies & SJW" , Thu 27 Mar 00:55
I just stopped taking the pill because I know that SJW may interfere with prescribed medicines.
I would like to know if anyone of you have any experience with taking herbal remedies (or vitamins such as vitamin C) at the same time. As they are not "prescribed medicines" I am wondering if there are any problems?
I also take some echinacea when I get a cold or something.
Thanks, Cornelia
Someone asked about Rescue Remedy in an earlier thread. Here is their website if anyone wants some more info: http://www.bachcentre.com /

I've just taken a handful of supplements - purported to improve gut bacteria (golden seal), for circluation improvement and general digestive help (gingko biloba, and Q10) as well as a vitamin supplement. I've also just started St John's Wort again after a break of a year or so. What do you mean, hypochondriac?
My two sons have multiple allergies resulting in asthma and migraine, as did my parents, and their father. We're an 'atopic' family apparently, ie prone to environmental and dietary irritation. The other supplements, as far as I am aware, and from my own experience, do not interfere with the action of St John's Wort, which has an SRI type effect, and acts on the serotonin levels in the brain. As our bodies are acted upon by myriad influences, environmental, dietary and chemical, supplementing the diet with concentrated levels of what are in effect dietary aids, vitamins etc, with no effect (directly) on serotonin levels is OK, I imagine, but we're all acting against the conventional medical view - ie self diagnosis and administration of substances that are not prescribed or sold by multinational pharmaceutical companies, so to a degree, we all work away in the dark. Sorry for the cop out at the end. In my experience, St. John's Wort is a strong supplement that works, and that can be felt to work, but perhaps does not address dietary needs that are met by supplementation of vitamins etc., particularly if, like me, you're prone to all the nebulous 'conditions' - fatigue, joint ache, headaches, breathlessnes, etc, that label you a self indulgent nutcase in this get up and at it and let's all have one viewpoint western life. Phew! Maybe this will help. Hope so.

Thanks for your reply, Eileen.
I think I did not make myself clear earlier. I don't take any supplements. And with Vitamin C I should have mentioned that I actually take ascorbic acid which helps much more and I am not sure about the effects with SJW.
Regarding the Dr Bach Remedies I know you should not take more than 6-7 differnt ones at a time. If you take more it is not harmful but they just don't have any effect anymore.
So my question is actually if anyone has taken Dr. Bach and SJW together and experienced no positive result. I just don't want to waste time and money.
