i am concerned about some 'possible' side effect i have while using paxil. heres how it comes and goes. i went for a brisk walk, flet energized, got home and went down down down. within 1-2hrs i had cold sweats VERY dizzy flet like i was hit with a bad case of flu. my eyes hurt with sharp pain. i COULD NOT stand without bracing myself. then a fine rash broke-out on my troso, cheeks, neck lower arms and a little on my upper legs.
my Dr said'i dont know what it is' and had me stop taking paxil completly. i had been on it for 6-7 week at that time and taking 10mg which i think is the lowest dose. within 24-48hrs i thought id die. i was so much worse then before i had started to take anything! he kept me off it for 4-5 days. it was hell. he then put me on (?) which made me better however it was playing games with my mind. i felt edgy and somewhat sad. at lest i was not 'in hell' so i TRIED to stay on the new drug. within a week the rash reapeared. he again stoped all Rx. at this point i was getting scared that i my never be normal again. i was despreat to 'get my life back. thankfully when i had another apt he was not in and a nurse prat. had me start BACK ON paxil 10. 'all was well with my sole' things were looking up. thennnn i could sleep and after about 4 months i went back to the NURSE and she up my dose to 25mg. that was alittle ruff for the 1st 2-3 weeks but then i stocked 160 cases of girl scout cookies and bam! the rash came back! i was flu-like-ill again and dizzy, again! my children were sick with the flu so i passed it off as maybe 'that' but in the back of my mind i was seeing a coralation (O' how i wish i could spell!) it went away within 2-3 hours. this takes me to yesterday. i was feeling great! even normal. i went for a 6 mile bike ride. flet energized. began to cook a fancy meal.... as i was filling a pan with water the sun brightly shone through the kitchen window and 'caught my eye' sheer pain, sharp pain so that my kneens buckled. i shook it off. a moment later it happened again. naturally i shut the darn shades. OUCH! but how odd it is for my eye to do that. with in 10-15 min i felt VERY ILL i thought i had to through-up. i lost my balance and nearly hit the floor! i had cold chills and broke out into a sweat that lasted 30 mins or so. my T-shirt was damp. my temp was 97 i had a terrible high pitched ringing in my left ear that made my eyes water. my daughter and husband said my face is/was swallen. sure enough my ankles too! for nearly 1 hr i was sick to my stomack. then all was fine execpt the ringing in my ears and the fact i had little balance. after 2-21/2 hrs my balance was nearly perfect and so was all eles but the ringing continued. WHAM! the old faithful rash was bach again! i called my Dr (off duty hrs) he said drink lots of water and call him in the morning. well here i am felling fine and dandy. no rash. none!no ringing. nota. zilch! i cant live like this. this is crazy! i had tried SJW 2 years ago and it was not the cure-all. but this is so hard. i am so afraid to stop taking paxil because twice before i was worse then when i had started. but this is no fun eaither. AT LAST THE QUESTION!!!! what is wrong with me?????? since being on paxil 25 iv gained 35lbs.(in 8wks) if i over exert myself or get in the sun it brings me to my knees. can ANYONE give me a hint as to what to do????
