Has anyone else gained weight on prescribed SSRI's and has anyone made the switch from .....say Zoloft, Paxil, to St. Johns wort or SAMe.....in which symptoms of both depression and anxiety were relieved.....without the weight gain. And did you loose the weight after being off the prescribed med. later?

Hi...don't have any answers for you, just wanted to say that I gained 25 lbs. in three months on Effexor (an SSRI). Wellbutrin is supposed to help weight loss, but if you read my message above, you will see that I am not a fan of that DRUG either. I have heard it is very tough to lose weight gained on SSRIs, so be proactive. I have taken off only a bit of what I gained.
