My doctor suggested I try Sarafen because I get migraine headaches during my period. Has anyone used SJW to reduce or eliminate migraines?

That is a good question. My doctor gave me Sarafem (which is actually Prozac) for my PMS symptoms. I have read some articles that some migraines could be caused by hormanal imbalance. I would be interested in hearing what others know about this. I have decided I didn't want to be on Prozac so have just started 5HTP. I am still doing some research on it to see how much I should take. I did get thru one month without any bad PMS symptoms. I also have a question about taking B6 with the 5HTP. One article said to take it with the 5HTP and another article said to take it 6 hours later. Anyone have any advice on this? And how much of both I should be taking?

Hi, I have started 5-HTP after having severe migraines for a long time and have not had one migraine but more importantly, hvae not had any tension headaches since i started (and those were almost daily). It really seems to work for this so I would recommend it from my own experience. I am also looking to know whether B6 should be taken with 5-HTP and I and others posted this question on teh 5-HTP section of this site so you may want to check there for responses over the next few days.
