"Paroxetine banned" , Mon 22 Aug 05:20

Im glad that the antidepressant drug Paroxetine has been banned here in the UK because most reports have found that the drug has worsened depression in many people.

The drug made me much worse when I tried it(with some horrible side-effects) and in a lot of people led to feelings of extreme anxiety (which can happen with any stimulant drug) and unfortunately suicide.

For the people who it has helped I hope, and am sure, that there are other drugs to help them and that they may be open minded and try alternative therapies too.

I dont believe in a single pill cure and have found that hobbies, gym excercise,hemi-sync relaxation cds, diet, bioflow magnetic wristbands,Brain Gym, and REBT therapy has really helped me; a package of treatment. It will be wonderful one day if the magic pill is invented though!!!!

Good luck to everyone, may you all find contentment.

C

I totally agree. I tried Paroxetine for 5 days because I had slight depressions. I only took 10mg which is half of the recommended dosage. After 3 days I got panic attacs which I had never had in my life. I was at work and all the sudden I had the feeling I can't breath and my hard beat like it would burst. I was about to tell my co-workers to call the ambulance but after an hour of these panic attacs coming back like waves it was over. I called my doctor and he said that 10mg was probably too much for me so I took only half of a pill the next day. Same attacs a little lighter and I also continuosly had a dry throat and felt just weird and depressed.
I am done with messing with my health. Pills like that might help people with strong depressions but for me they made it worse.
I will try SJW because I have always thought that treating problems a natural way is the best. Also, I will get some counceling to figure out why I am depressed. It seems to be to easy to get these drugs in the US.

Just a clarification, Paxil was only banned in the UK for adolescents and teenagers under the age of 18... I think this was a wise decision.
