I first tried St. John's Wort after finding this page in spring of 2000 while I was taking Zoloft for an episode of moderate depression and panic attacks I had been having. The Zoloft gave me very undesirable side effects, and I am really not into taking prescription meds unless completely necessary. I slowly got off my Zoloft and transitioned to the SJW after about 3mos. I immediately noticed a lessening of the side effects without the return of my symptoms. Right after that I became pregnant and stopped all meds and supplements. My pregnancy actually seemed to reset my body and I felt better than ever before. It wasn't until the winter months following the birth of my second son in 2002 that I found a need to return. I have been using it for 3-4 months every winter for SAD and have had great results. I absoulutely recommend it to anyone who shows signs of mild to moderate depression or SAD.
