I've been taking sjw for about 2 months now and I've noticed in the last few weeks that I've had spots appearing all over my body. I can't call it a rash because they are few and far between. At first I thought they were insect bites, cos I noticed them while I was on holiday, but they are still appearing weeks after I came back. Sometimes they are itchy some times not. They are taking quite a while to fade too.

Also yesterday I experienced slight pins and needles in my hand. I wasn't doing anything to cause this at the time. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that this is a side effect, but now I can't find any info.

CAn anyone shed any light on either of these problems?

I guess in some people (maybe just a few) sjw does cause some light rash or red "dots".I just recently changed from GNC to Vitaminworld, and I noticed some red spots on my cheek, not itchy though.Already a little frustrated,I thought of changing back to GNC,but then fortunately the reaction stopped. And I've been taking it for weeks now and with good result. In my case I believe it was an adjustment reaction. In your case, after 11 days and strong discomfort,I'd suggest you tried a different brand! Quality and side effects,if any, vary from brand to brand.

Hi Pucki-

So the Vitaminworld brand has been a good replacement for GNC so far? Then I may try that, too. I notice they make several different combinations of dosages. Are you taking the 300 mg x 0.3% hypericin x three a day or one of the others? Is this the same Vitaminworld brand that is shown at Vitaminworld.com? Other than the temporary rash that you mentioned, have you noticed any difference at all between how you feel taking the VW and how you feel taking the GNC? Thanks for any info.

Hi,H20buffalo.
Yes,I'm taking the 300 mg ,0.3% version, and I'm happy to say that the minor rash I was experiencing for a while has stopped.I even felt a little nervous the first week, now that I think of it;but all that seems to have been some "pain of adjustment".And I guess that when u start taking sjw in general, there is often some side effect at first, and also when u change brands.
Now I'm without any side effect and feel good and stable. It's possible that it's even stronger than the GNC I was taking;at least in the beginning I thought so.I felt very good on GNC,just like I do now,but now I also feel safe.I must say,I'm a little sad that I said good -bye to GNC;it was such a wonderful aid for more than 3 years!!
Yes,the ones I take now are from Vitaminworld.com.I order them online, but I was told there are stores in the US where u can buy it personally.
If u decide to try them, let me know how it goes for you,ok? Especially in comparison with the GNC brand.Good luck,
Pucki

Thank you for the update, Pucki! I'm headed for the States for vacation tomorrow, and if GNC doesn't have some information that counters the results of that study when I telephone them, I'll give the VitaminLife brand a try. Thanks again.

I just thought I'd mention that usually a rash is an allergic reaction to something... if not the SJW, then the filler that's found in the capsule or pill. Usually it's not the filler, but if one brand causes the rash while another doesn't, that leads me to believe there's something more in it that's causing the reaction...
