I've been taking SJW for 7 months now, and it took 6 weeks initially to kick in, after which it worked incredibly well for some 3 months, depression was gone, anxiety disappeared in fact nothing seemed to bother me. I was more assertive, and confident than I had ever been and my mood was at an all time high. After about three months though the effects started wearing off and the depression and anxiety started coming back. I got particularly bad PMS which was absolutely terrible and lasted for about 10 days each month. I've always suffered PMS but it was particulary bad since I started taking SJW, not just the emotional symptoms of PMS, like depression and irritability but also migranes, very low blood sugar, sweating, tiredness etc. I definitely think that it has a negative effect on the hormones. I take Kira which is supposed to be a good brand. I tried Amoryn but side effects were so terrible I swiched back to Kira. In short, what I thought was a miracle cure to begin with, has turned out to be quite a disappointment.

In my opinion Kira is to weak. In fact, alot of companies making herds to sale to help with depression don't offer buyers a Phar. grade product. For this reason alot of people don't get good effects when using SJW. Just my opinion from using several SJW products.

What dosage have you been on. Did you consider increasing your dosage and seeing if that helps. Just a thought.

I am taking the recommended 900mg per day, not sure if it is safe to take more than that.

I'm afraid just like anti-depressants you have poop out. In fact nearly all drugs have this problem. Tolerance is built up, so u end up with no benefits just the crap accumulating side effects. You may want to come off SJW and go back on in a year. It may then work again. People switch anti-depressants (different chemical structures) when this happens, cant be done with brands of SJW to my knowledge (since chemical structure is the same). Diet, quit caffeine/alcohol/smoking, exercise and doing things I find helps and I ride the anxiety and depression. I don't smoke, but many people find this helpful, its a proven potent anti-depressant, I'm not saying start. Just if u do smoke and quit do it slowly. Since PMS is strongly diet related you may want to detox and find out which foods are upsetting you. This may be making your depression worse. I make it all sound easy, its not.
